Ο European Space Agency (ESA) collects messages from people around the world to send them 434 light-years away, to Polaris.
All you have to do is go to Website “A Simple Response to an Elemental Message” and answer the question "How will our present environmental interactions shape the future?" (How will our current environmental interaction shape the future?)
This initiative is a collaboration between the European Space Agency, the UK Astronomy Technology Centre, the Universityof Edinburgh and researchers from the University John Hopkins and the European Southern Observatory.
Once the above team has collected your answers (the deadline for submitting applications is 16 September), the ESA Cerveros antenna in Madrid will send them to Polaris, 434 light years off.
You need to answer this question, because the purpose of the group is for people to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on how our culture collectively understands its role in shaping the future environment and to create a means by which we can collectively to analyze these perspectives ”.
Even if you do not care to contribute to the ongoing dialogue, you would probably like your words to reach Polaris someday, along with an excerpt from Carl Sagan from “Pale Blue Dot” (faint blue dot) as well as part of “On the Origins of the Species” (regarding the origin of the species).
