European Court of Justice ruled Thursday that Bitcoin and other virtual coins can be tax-free, according to a report Bloomberg.
The litigation took place in Sweden last June between the Swedish State Tax Authority and its manager Bitcoin forum, Daniel Hedqvist, and it was a question of whether virtual currencies should be subject to a tax-free regime.
In July, the Advocate General of the court said in a document his opinion that BitCoin should be exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT).
This decision vindicates the supporters of Bitcoin, as it means that in Europe someone will be able to buy products and pay in Bitcoins at their net worth without paying fconditions for their purchase.
