Facebook automatically uploads images to Google Photos

Facebook - Google collaboration and more: Transferring photos is not easy. It is very difficult to move photos from one social network to another or some storage space. But Facebook and Google have decided to make things easier, as they now allow you to copy your photos from Facebook to Google Photos.

It is the first fruit of an open source project, the Data Transfer Program (Data Transfer Project), which aims to make it easier to move photos and other data across corporate platforms: Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter.

The goal is to make it easier for you, the end user, to better manage your data.

When we report your data, we mean the photos or videos you have uploaded to Facebook. With a new tool, you will be able to move them easily. However, you will not be able to transfer images and videos that contain content that was posted by others.

The "new" feature is not new to all users as it works for some users in Ireland from the end of 2019.

At this time, you can only transfer your photos from Facebook to Google Photos. By default, each Google Photos account has 15 GB of storage. If you need more, you can buy 100 GB for $ 1,99 a month or $ 19,99 a year. If you are a professional photographer or can not stop taking selfies, you can rent up to 30TB of storage space.

The service Google Photos It can store images up to 16 megapixels, and has built-in photo editing tools and an online editor.

To move your Facebook pictures to Google Photos, sign in to Facebook. In your Facebook settings you will see "Your Facebook Information" on the right of your screen. (You can go directly from here)

There you will see in the second option in the center of the screen "Transfer a Copy of Your Photos or Videos"
You will be prompted to enter your Facebook password.

Once you do that the next page will open allowing you to transfer your images. Currently only allows transfers to Google Photos.

Next, you need to sign in to Google and give Facebook permission to upload your images to your Google Photo Library. Finally, click on Confirm Transfer, and the transfer will begin.

The transfer will not be fast, especially if you have a lot of pictures. However, it is a fairly practical tool and very easy to use.
