A series of upgrades to Search and Trending announced Facebook.
With regard to searches, the update makes it easier to search for posts: "you told us that the most important thing is you can find posts you've seen before, and now you can. With a quick search, you can return to a fun video from your graduation, an article you wanted to read, or photos from your friend's wedding last summer, "a related announcement says.
At the same time, it is noted that there is still the possibility of searching with phrases such as "my friends living in New York". However, it is underlined that the search results are personalized and unique to each user, and, "as always, you can only see things that have been shared with you."
These upgrades have been specifically designed for mobile devices, and will be available for both desktop and Facebook on iPhone. In the first instance, they will only concern the US English version of the social network.
With regard to Trending now, it has been announced on mobile devices to make it easier for users to search for reports from different sources.
"Now when you select a topic in Trending, you will see discussions in up to five different categories: Articles (see how the topic covers the media), In the Story (see posts from people involved in the topic), Friends and Groups shows what people are saying on your network), Near the Scene (shows you from people near the place where the story takes place), Live Feed (real-time stream of reactions from people around the world).
Feed under the new categories will continue to show relevant posts depending on the degree of engagement, timing, etc.
The way Trending topics are set has not changed, and only public posts and posts that the user can see (friends, groups they belong to, etc.) will be displayed.
This upgrade first will be available to US users (web and Android). Support for iOS and other countries is expected to follow.
