Now, social network users will receive their emails in the emails they registered when they registered on Facebook.

A social network spokesman said Facebook decided to stop the service as "the majority of users do not use it".

Facebook's email service is expected to officially shut down in early March.

The project started in November 2010. In the Facebook e-mail, users received emails, SMS and emails from their friends on the social network.
