Facebook Dating: yes Dating service available in 19 countries

Facebook Dating is finally here. The social network has made the new service available today in the US and 19 other countries after the announced 2018 for the first time at the F8 developers conference.

The new service will be available to users over 18 and those who opt for it will appear as a new tab in the Facebook app. It's important to have a separate profile for Facebook Dating, because this way your activities will not appear on your family's newsfeed.

Facebook Dating

Facebook Dating will be available today from 19 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay, and Vietnam. In Europe we will see it in the first months of 2020.

As soon as you sign up for the new service, you will get alert suggestions as with any other Dating application. You can comment on others' profiles or just 'like'.

The company says it won't recommend your friends' profile to you unless you add each other to a "Secret Crush" list.

You can add your Instagram friends or followers to the 'Secret Crush' list and you will receive a notification even though they add you to their list.

Due to the size of the social network Facebook Dating will win many users, but don't be fooled.

Of course, this is another attempt by the company to gather more personal data and possibly increase the time they spend on Facebook.

Will you trust your very personal moments and relationships on Facebook?
