Why changed the Facebook Friends icon

Did you notice a small in your Facebook “Friends” icon? Caitlin Winner, is director of design at Facebook, and with a Publication explains why the icon was changed.

In fact, the small photo shows two impersonal figures of a man and a woman.

As you will see in the picture below, while the male figure had rounded shoulders, the female figure had a strange recess in the shoulder on the left side, and of course the male figure was placed in front of her. In the old icon the female figure looks smaller than the man.

"I assumed that while there were no bad intentions, something offended me," she said Caitlin Winner.

So he set out to rebuild the Facebook icons. Thus, in the new icon, we see more shoulders in the female figure, a different haircut, and of course the woman is in front of the man.
As a woman, who studied at a college of women, it was not difficult to read the symbolism of the old icon, the woman was literally in the shadow of the man.
Caitlin Winner has taken it upon herself to examine the symbolism of all the images that the popular .
He tries to challenge every icon, especially those that we are most familiar with, according to TNW.

For example, is the briefcase the best symbol for "work"? Which population carries briefcases and at what time? What other ways are there to symbolize "work." And which of them will be able to remind the word "work" to the majority of people all over the Earth?

So not to think that there is something random in designing a page (and not only).
