Facebook already allows its users to upload their photos and videos to Backblaze, Dropbox, Google Photos and Koofr.
Today, Facebook announced that it will allow its users to transfer posts and notes them on Google Docs, Blogger and WordPress.com services.
To start the transfer, Facebook will ask users to re-enter their password before starting the transfer and encryption of data them as they move between services.
How to access the feature:
From your Facebook settings in the "Your Facebook Information" section, click on "Transfer your information" (Transfer a Copy of Your Information).
You will be asked to Password of your account.
Follow the instructions to safely transfer the data of your choice to one of the available services.
“We look forward to continuing to expand our data types and partners in the future. However, the ecosystem we are building to support data portability will not materialize without regulation that clarifies which data they should be made portable and who is responsible for protecting the data after it is transferred,” said Steve Satterfield, Director of Privacy and Public Policy.
