Facebook Stories Archive: Facebook released the Stories feature by copying Snapchat. But Facebook Stories aren't nearly as popular as Snapchat.
Facebook Stories are available on all smartphones and you can join photos and videos to create short stories that are supposed to disappear after 24 hours.
If you post frequently on Facebook Stories, it is assumed that your post will not be displayed after 24 hours. But as you might know a copy is stored in your account. No one sees it but there is.
It is not automatically deleted after the 24 hours promised by Facebook and this happens under the guise of a feature called Story archive. If you don't want to have your stories on Facebook forever, you should disable the feature from social network.
How; Open the Facebook app on your mobile and you will see Stories at the top. You can browse through the available stories, but if you look at the top right of the slider, you'll see an option called 'The archive or “Your Archive”.
Tap on it and you'll see one screen which contains a link to the Story File Settings. If you don't see the screen above, tap the gear on the top right of the image. You will see that there is only one setting, with the “Save to File” option.
Disable it and Facebook will no longer store copies of your stories in your account.
Once you turn off the Facebook Stories feature, the screen will give you the option to turn it back on. Yes Facebook is giving you the chance to collect more again data.
Η specific operation, seems to be superfluous for most but it is enabled by default.
Your story file is only visible to you and, of course, Facebook. Your friends can not see. The file is not saved on your device and does not take up space. But it is stored on the internet (on Facebook servers). So if only you can see it if you are not interested you can disable the feature. Why should Facebook see it?
