Facebook: sorry for translating the name of Chinese President Xi Jingping as “Mr. Shithole “

Facebook has apologized for the translation of its president's name Xi Jinping as “Mr. Shithole”.

The wrong translation of the name of the president of China Mr. Xi Jingping turned her on όλου του κόσμου εχθές. Το συμβάν έγινε όταν η de-facto πολιτική ηγέτης της Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, έγραψε ένα μήνυμα στην ιστο on Facebook, in the Burmese language, confirming the time of Mr. Xi's arrival in the country.

And Facebook took care to translate it for those who do not know Burmese fluently: "Mr. Shithole, President of China arrives at 4 p.m." !!!!

Facebook does not currently have a translation solution and therefore relies entirely on Google. It is quite interesting to note that, unlike Facebook, Google Translator correctly translated its article Aung San Suu Kyi on Facebook and that made people think it's Facebook's fault.

Google made no announcement about the translation malfunction and only Facebook issued an apology, which confirms that the error is Facebook's fault.

"We fixed a technical issue that caused incorrect translations from Burmese to English on Facebook," Stone said. "This should not have happened and we are taking steps to ensure that it does not happen again."

Facebook, along with other global social media platforms, is currently banned in China. The Chinese government is responsible for controlling Internet content. It can delete as well as ban content that is against the interest of the state.
