Facebook against False Accounts to Limit False News

Facebook's problem with fake accounts is not new and once again the biggest , is reportedly taking steps to of its integrity his.

In a post yesterday, the company announced that it has begun making many improvements to the platform's security and integrity systems to facilitate suspicious accounts, as well as limiting the spread of misinformation.Facebook

"We've found that when people represent themselves on Facebook in the same way they do in real life, they act responsibly," said Facebook's security team.

“Fake accounts do not follow this pattern, and are closely related to and spreading spam.”

The new changes will help the social network to detect fake accounts more efficiently. "We've made improvements to identify non-genuine accounts more easily by tracking activity patterns, without evaluating the content itself."

Security professionals in the larger social network could refer to repeated posts of the same content or unusual phenomena in the communication activity of the bogus account.

New improvements have so far been implemented at a limited level in France and have identified more than 30.000 bogus accounts. It is very likely to see a huge increase in this number when security systems are updated globally.

Of course, we should mention that enhanced security measures are very likely to reduce the total number of bogus accounts, but also that there is a risk that too many authentic accounts may be blocked by mistake.
