Fairphone 6 on June 25th with 550 euros for 8GB RAM

Two years after the Fairphone 5, the Dutch company is preparing to present the Fairphone 6 on June 25. Like its predecessors, the next generation will again have a modular design to make it easier for users to repair compared to other smartphones.

In addition to the release date, the Dutch website says that the Fairphone 6 will feature eight GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. These key details are also confirmed by Roland Quandt at Winfuture, who has more details.

According to Winfuture , the Fairphone 6 will be available in “Horizon Black,” “Cloud White,” and “Forest Green.” The manufacturer will use a two-part cover for the back. The “top” and “bottom” covers will be offered in different colors.

It is also said that the upcoming smartphone will offer interchangeable accessories such as a card holder and a ring holder. This is somewhat reminiscent of Nothings CMF Phone, to which users can add accessories if they wish.

According to information obtained by Winfuture, the Fairphone 6 will have a dual camera setup consisting of a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle camera. Like the front camera, the rear cameras will be user-replaceable. Other interchangeable modules apparently include the top inner cover, earpiece, speakers, USB-C port, display, and battery.

No further technical specifications have been leaked yet. Only the price of 550 euros. This means that the smartphone would be released at a lower price than the Fairphone 5 from 2023. At that time, the manufacturer initially charged 700 euros for the model with eight GB of RAM. A year later, a version with six GB of RAM was released for 550 euros.

Like its predecessor, the Fairphone 6 is likely to offer an update guarantee of up to eight years. We hope that the Fairphone will be more reliable with software updates in the future. The manufacturer recently failed to update the Fairphone 4 to Android 14, but promises Android 15 for the new device.
