To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Facebook started rolling out “Look Back,” a tool that allows users to create a short video with their activities on the social network and share it with their friends. But there are also fraudsters who thought to take advantage of the opportunity. Fraudsters are reportedly taking advantage of the tool's popularity to spread malware.
According to Cyberwarzone.com, cyber criminals publish links to fake Look Back pages. These pages are designed to look like the actual Look Back site on Facebook, but instead of reproducing the video, they suggest their victims install something.
At the moment, no technical details have been released, but as CWZ reports the whole story is aimed at distributing malicious software.
If you want to create your own video, make sure to do it at the address Facebook.com/lookback and not from another website.
