FBI: will not view browsing history without warrant… for now

First the good news. The United States Senate has rejected a proposal that would have given the FBI increased surveillance powers, such as the ability to search the history ς μας στο δια without a warrant.FBI

The bad ones?

The same proposal that has been rejected and we could see a modified version of the same proposal in the near future.

The measure, introduced earlier this week by U.S. Sen. John McCain, was intended to give the FBI immediate authority to — as McCain said — "go after lone wolves" in the wake of the mass killing at night of Orlando entertainment earlier this month.

The proposal was rejected by just two votes, and one was by Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), who changed his vote at the last minute.

McConnell could make the new bill a reality. Please note that a modified version of it is being prepared for review as early as next week.
