The Facebook today he launched his own page, which he named FBTechwire. News will appear on the page technology, discussions and other real-time events for users of the social network.
In a post, the company said the Techwire page is powered by Storyful and will include content that can be embedded into news stories by journalists. The content will also be distributed on Twitter via a dedicated account.
The move is clearly an attempt to compete with Twitter, which has become known for the immediacy of breaking a news story, making the micro-blogging network a valuable tool for journalists.
FB Techwire's release follows the introduction of FB Newswire in April of this year.
