FBtechwire new technology for journalists from Facebook

In a post, the company said the Techwire page is powered by and will include content that can be embedded into news stories by journalists. The content will also be distributed on Twitter via a dedicated account.

The move is clearly an attempt to compete with Twitter, which has become known for the immediacy of breaking a news story, making the micro-blogging network a valuable for journalists.

FB Techwire's release follows the introduction of FB Newswire in April of this year.
