Fedora 43

Jef Spaleta announced the release of Fedora 43. The key features of the new version are a new system installer that was tested in the Workstation edition of Fedora 42 and is now available for all spins and Wayland-only sessions of Workstation.

There are some notable user-visible changes in this release. For those of you installing new Fedora Linux 43 Spins, you may encounter the new Anaconda WebUI.

This was the default installation interface for Fedora Workstation 42 and is now the default installation interface for Spins as well.

If you are a GNOME desktop user, you will also notice that GNOME now only comes with Wayland in Fedora Linux 43.

Upstream GNOME has removed X11 support and will completely stop X11 support in GNOME 50.

Beyond the changes that are visible to the user, there are a few important points that will go unnoticed by most users, but are important nonetheless.

For example, Fedora Linux 43 will be the first release with RPM 6.0.
