The Fedora project has released a new development snapshot, the fedora 44 betaThe new release brings some key changes to the system installer and unifies the KDE Plasma experience across all versions:
“Goodbye to the default network profiles created by Anaconda – this change affects how Anaconda populates network device profiles.”
“Only devices configured during installation (via boot options, kickstart, or interactively in the UI) become part of the final system installation. This behavior change addresses some long-standing issues caused by populating network profiles for all network devices.
This made it difficult to properly reconfigure the devices after installation.”
“ Unified KDE Experience Out of the Box : This change brings the Plasma installer post-installation to all Fedora KDE variants. On variants using this new installer, Anaconda configuration will be adjusted to disable redundant configuration steps that duplicate functionality exposed in setup.
KDE Plasma Login Manager : This change brings the Plasma Login Manager (PLM) to Fedora KDE variants instead of SDDM as the default login manager.”
