As always, we announced the release of Firefox 72 early. Release is scheduled to begin today, January 7, for all supported GNU / Linux, macOS and Windows platforms.
This version is being developed since the beginning of December 2019 and promises to bring Picture-in-Picture (PiP) video controls to the GNU / Linux and macOS platforms, as Windows users already had PiP support from the Firefox 71 version.

Firefox 72 also continues to improve the built-in mode Enhanced Tracking Protection of the program browsing, blocking all supported operating systems (Linux, MacOS and Windows) from fingerprinting scripts by default.
"Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection marks a major new milestone in our fight against inter-site surveillance: we are now turning off fingerprinting scripts for all users, taking a bold new step in our fight for our users' privacy." he says Mozilla.
Among other notable changes in Firefox 72, we can mention that annoying pop-up notification requests have been replaced by a speech bubble that will appear in the address bar when you interact with a site and will not interrupt your browsing.
Firefox 72 also adds support for using client certificates from the Windows operating system certificate store.
