Mozilla has officially announced its Flash discontinuation timeline. THE company along with many others will stop supporting Flash in January 2021.
Η version 84 of Firefox will be the final version to support Flash. On January 26, 2021, Firefox 85 is expected to be released, and it will be a version without Flash support, "improving our performance and security", according with the company.
As for users following the Nightly and Beta channels, Flash support ends today, November 17, 2020 at Nightly and December 14, 2020 for the Beta channel.
There will be no setting to reactivate Flash support.
If Microsoft follows its plan to remove Flash, it will stop at the Edge Beta on December 7, 2020 and the Stable version on January 21, 2021. Support for the Canary channel has already stopped.
Adobe will stop distributing and updating it Flash Player after 31 December 2020.
Adobe Flash is now the only NPAPI plug-in Firefox supports. The programs Chromium-based browsers will also drop Flash support starting with Chromium version 88 which will be released in January 2021.
