Firefox tweaks: Almost all browsers have similar speeds, so the speed it actually comes down to how you use the program. If you use the Mozilla Foundation's Firefox, you will find the guide below very useful. Let's see how you can make Firefox faster.
Obviously you should use the latest version of Firefox.
Turn on hardware acceleration
The new Firefox Quantum can become faster than your GPU. However, on too many computers, the feature is not turned on by default.
From the internal address about: preferences on the General tab, look at Performance. Uncheck Use recommended performance settings and the following settings will appear:
The last option is the content editing limit. If your computer has a dedicated GPU and more than 8GB μνήμηs RAM, you can increase the number to 4. Otherwise, leave it at the default value of 4. Generally 5 is for 16GB RAM, 6 for 32GB RAM, and 7 for 64GB RAM.
Turn off data collection and telemetry
Firefox continuously collects anonymous data about how to use the browser. It then sends this data to its servers to improve browser features. Do not worry, this does not compromise your privacy but makes Firefox slower.
We will need some tweaks:
Πρώτον, θα πρέπει να απενεργοποιήσουμε τη συλλογή δεδομένων στον Firefox.Από την εσωτερική διεύθυνση about:preferences και στην καρτέλα Privacy & Security, βρείτε το Firefοx Data Collection and Use. Κάντε uncheck σε όλα τα κουτάκια που βλέπετε και στο τέλος κάντε και ένα restart in Firefox
Firefox uses Telemetry to send this data. To turn off telemetry, you will need to open the internal address about: config.
About: Config Tweaks
Write or copy and paste about: config to the URL
Click on I'll be careful, I promise
Let's change the telemetry settings in Firefox now:
Set browser.download.animateNotifications to False Set security.dialog_enable_delay to 0 Set network.prefetch-next to False (Only on slow internet connections) Set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.telemetry to false Set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry to false Set browser.ping-centre.telemetry to false Set toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.bhrPing.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.firstShutdownPing.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.hybridContent.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.newProfilePing.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.reportingpolicy.firstRun to false Set toolkit.telemetry.shutdownPingSender.enabled to false Set toolkit.telemetry.unified to false Set toolkit.telemetry.updatePing.enabled to false
Your firefox will already be faster but let's see what else we can do:
Firefox Accessibility Services Turn off accessibility services
Firefox Quantum always keeps track of your browser through Accessibility Services. If you do not need the program's auxiliary technologies, you can turn them off. for bodily harm.
Here's how to safely disable accessibility services in the new Firefox:
From the internal address about: preferences on the Privacy & Security tab, find Permissions. Select Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser and do
restart Firefox when prompted.
Use Speed Tweaks for Firefox Quantum
For each browser, there are some tweaks to speed up performance. You could do everything manually or use an easy-to-use extension called Speed Tweaks.
Tweaks include:
Block common ads by default
Pre-solve DNS entries
Block all images from loading by default
Speed up page rendering while scrolling
Load the mobile version of websites
Discard inactive tabs to save memory
Clear the browser cache
Choose which one you want to use.
Remove the Pocket
In the internal address about: config look for and change the following:
reader.parse-on-load.enabled on False reader.parse-on-load.force-enabled on False browser.pocket.enabled on False loop.enabled on False
Do you know anything else? We will be glad to see it in the comments.
