Η European European Space Expo, one of the most important international exhibitions, comes for the first time in Greece, from 28 March to 5 April 2015 in a specially designed white dome in Constitution Square. Si-Cluster, the Greek collaborative formation of space technologies and applications, coordinated by Corallia, supports and actively participates as a sponsor in the exhibition, which will be a reference point for the industry in our country.
As a sponsor European Space Expo, si-Cluster businesses and research and academic bodies will highlight projects and applications space technologys that are already implemented and operating in Greece and generate significant benefits at the local and national level. These applications concern a wide range of thematic areas, such as the environmental monitoring of terrestrial and marine areas, precision agriculture, dealing with natural disasters, fire risk detection, the location of special facilities (e.g. landfills, landfills), etc. At the same time, they will highlight the opportunities created for Greece in global markets, which can strengthen the employment of Greek scientists in a highly specialized and exciting sector, but also stimulate the overall economic development of the country.
In the framework of the European Space Expo, the si-Cluster will organize a series of free events. Entrance to the exhibition is free to the public, with hours of operation being set as follows: Monday - Thursday: 09: 00 - 20: 00, Friday - Saturday: 10: 00 - 21: 00, Sunday: 10: 00 - 20: 00.
Η Αθήνα αποτελεί τον 24ο σταθμό της περιοδείας της European Space Expo. Οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία, μέσω μιας διαδραστικής εμπειρίας, να γνωρίσουν από κοντά το ευρύ φάσμα των διαστημικών τεχνολογιών και εφαρμογών, καθώς και να παρακολουθήσουν σχετικές παρουσιάσεις από ειδικούς και να ενημερωθούν για τα οφέλη που μπορεί να αποκομίσει η Ελλάδα από τα ελεύθερα και ανοικτά δεδομένα και από τα ευρωπαϊκά διαστημικά προγράμματα. Παράλληλα με τις δράσεις του si-Cluster, κατά τη διάρκεια της έκθεσης, θα παρουσιαστούν, μεταξύ άλλων, τα ευρωπαϊκά διαστημικά προγράμματα δορυφορικής πλοήγησης, Galileo και EGNOS, καθώς και το πρόγραμμα παρατήρησης της Γης, Copernicus. Τα εν λόγω προγράμματα αναμένεται να δημιουργήσουν ευκαιρίες στην παγκόσμια αγορά, να συμβάλουν στην υποστήριξη της δημιουργίας θέσεων work, but also in the economic development of Europe.
The exhibition is organized by the European Commission in major European cities, aiming at informing citizens about the benefits and applications of European space programs in their daily lives. The number of European citizens who have visited it so far has surpassed 500.000.
