At the last conference, G7 leaders called on Russia to arrest ransomware groups operating within its borders.
G7 leaders at their conference in Britain, requested from Russia to arrest ransomware groups believed to be operating within its borders, following a series of attacks which targeted international organizations and critical sectors of other countries. They also expressed their commitment to work together to tackle the growing ransomware threat, as a global one challenge.
Recall that in early May, the DarkSide team held ransomware attack on the American company Colonial Pipeline and effectively forced President Biden to declare America's east coast a state of emergency extraordinary of necessity and finally to pay ransom $ 5 million.
The White House reiterated the United States' commitment to fighting ransomware groups, along with other G7 Member States, in statement posted over the weekend.
