G7 leaders at their conference in Britain, requested from Russia to arrest ransomware groups believed to be operating within its borders, following a series of attacks targeting international organizations and critical sectors in other countries. They also expressed their commitment to work together to address the growing ransomware threat as a global challenge.
Recall that in early May, the DarkSide team held ransomware attack on the American company Colonial Pipeline and effectively forced President Biden to declare the east coast of America a state of emergency and eventually pay a $ 5 million ransom.
The White House reiterated the United States' commitment to fighting ransomware groups, along with other G7 Member States, in statement posted over the weekend.
