Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, Mr Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook and many others from her field technology, created the Breakthrough Energy Coalition, a nonprofit organization to undertake research into new clean alternative forms of energy.
This new organization will provide financial support for new efforts to clean alternative forms of energy, and at the same time will help plans and new ideas for less power consumption from power sources.
In addition to Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, the new Breakthrough Energy Coalition project is supported by major personalities of the global technology scene, such as Richard Branson (founder of Virgin Group), Jeff Bezos (ιδρυτής του Amazon και CEO), Jack Ma (ιδρυτής του Alibaba και Chairman), Meg Whitman (HP CEO, και πρώην eBay CEO), Reid Hoffman (ιδρυτής του LinkedIn and CEO), Hasso Plattner (SAP co-founder and CEO), and Marc Benioff (Salesforce founder and CEO).
In addition, the project is supported by less well-known entrepreneurs such as Mukesh Ambani, John Arnold, Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, Patrice Motsepe, Ray Dalio, Xavier Niel, Ratan Tata, Tom Steyer, Aliko Dangote, Vinod Khosla, John Doerr Natas Simons, Laura Baxter-Simons, Julian Robertson, Masayoshi Son, George Soros, Chris Hohn, Zhang Xin, Pan Shiy and the University of California.
The news comes shortly before the United Nations Climate Change Conference, to be held in Paris next week. Rumors say that Bill Gates is set to present with Barack Obama a new initiative called Mission Innovation.
The Mission Innovation project has similar goals to those of the Breakthrough Energy Coalition, which will only apply to countries as members.
Up to now, 20 countries have agreed to participate and commit funds for research on clean sources of energy, within the framework of Innovation Mission.
