Yes, it's an operating system for vintage 32-bit computers. Its goal is to provide a simple platform for processing retro hardware and running graphical interactive applications on bare metal.
At a minimum, it only requires an i386 CPU , 4MB RAM , and a VGA monitor capable of 640x480x16 operation.
It is completely monolithic by design, and is configured mostly at compile time. It only supports standard computer devices: VGA/SVGA, keyboard, PS/2 mouse, serial mouse, computer speaker. The only future plans from the developer are bug fixes, optimizations, and adding more applications.
GentleOS/32 has a pure 16-bit spin-off called GentleOS/16, which is built for devices up to 80186.
