George Hotz, an 26-year hacker who lives in San Francisco, thinks he can build autonomous driving vehicles with a device that costs only a thousand dollars. You will be able to customize the device in the car you are driving now.
Hack that technology: Companies like Mercedes, Tesla, and Google are spending millions of dollars on the development of auto-driven vehicle technology.
Using his car, an Acura ILX 2016 as a test platform, Hotz took about a month to build and integrate an electronic stand-alone platform.
It consists of a 21,5-inch screen at dashboard, a minicomputer running Linux, GPS sensors built into the passenger glove box, and cameras placed around the car.
All this material works with Hotz software that adapts it to "learn" how to drive like a human.
Hotz has already managed to create name
After brief assignments to Google, SpaceX, and Facebook, he studied artificial intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University.
Now Hotz hopes to build his own technology for self-propelled vehicles that he can sell directly to consumers or car companies through his startup, comma.ai.
Look no hands!
