Gettr hacked Trump's social network

Several verified profiles on Gettr, the new social network by Jason Miller, once an adviser to former President Trump, were hacked and distorted for a while on Sunday.

The accounts of many prominent Republicans, such as Miller, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and spokeswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, were changed by a hacker who replaced their page headers with the same message: "@JubaBaghdad was here :) ^^ free palestine ”.” according to screenshots.

Ο of Twitter @JubaBaghdad told Insider that it was easy to hack the pages and that he did it "for fun". Most of the affected profiles were reinstated shortly afterwards.

Jason Miller said in an email to The Verge that the problem was identified and "fixed within minutes and the only thing the attacker could do was change some usernames". He added that "more than half a million users" had registered on the Gettr platform.

Gettr was scheduled to officially launch yesterday on July 4th. The new social network aims to host three-minute videos, 777-character posts and live streaming videos.

The application of the new platform exists in the apps of Google and Apple, with the tag "Marketplace of Ideas". About the app describes it as “a brand new social network platform based on the principles of free speech, independent thought and rejection of political censorship” and “of culture." Intended for users 17 years and older.

When Trump was ousted from Facebook and Twitter in January after the Capitol uprising, he said he planned to start his own social network, apparently acknowledging the power of social media to the masses.
