Getty Images and Shutterstock seem to have problems with images built with artificial intelligence.
The largest user-uploaded graphic content platform is bringing this ban, following similar decisions on other sites such as Newgrounds, PurplePort and FurAffinity.
Getty Images CEO Craig Peters told The Verge that the ban was prompted by concerns about the legality of AI-generated content and a desire to protect the site's customers.
“There are concerns regarding the copyright of these creations as they have unclear copyright in relation to the images, the metadata of the images but also the people contained in the images".
Given these concerns, selling AI artwork or illustrations could put the company's users in legal trouble.
Shutterstock, on the other hand, has limited some searches for AI content, but has yet to establish specific policies banning images.
