Gmail New tool for mass unsubscribes

A few months ago, Google released a new feature for Gmail on Android that made it easier to clean up your inbox by displaying a single list of all your subscriptions and providing a simple way to unsubscribe from those lists.

This feature is expanding, as the “Manage Subscriptions” option now appears in Gmail for desktop.

Google has not made any official announcement, but there are users of the service who have started seeing the new button in recent days.

The tool works just like it does on Android. When you open it, you'll see the name and email address of each list you're subscribed to, along with the number of messages the sender has recently sent you. A button on the right lets you unsubscribe from that list without leaving the screen you're on.

It's not exactly a new feature, as the same button appears at the top of every promotional email you receive. What's new is that all senders are now displayed on one page, meaning you can unsubscribe from dozens of lists in a minute.

Google states that when you unsubscribe, it takes a few days for the change to fully take effect, so you may still receive a few emails.

How to manage subscriptions in Gmail

To find the page, look in the left pane where your categories are listed. If you have it enabled, it appears in different places for different people, but it’s somewhere near the spam and trash. Somewhere there you’ll see the option to “Manage subscriptions.” You may need to click the “More” drop-down menu to see it.

If you don't see any of the above, you should know that Google is gradually rolling out this feature. If you don't see it now, you will soon.
