Learn about Inbox Snooze in Gmail

There's a hidden button in Gmail that can redeliver an email to you at a time you set. This is the “Snooze” feature.

There is an extremely useful button that is curiously unmarked as well most users haven't even discovered it. This is the "Snooze" button found on every email you've already received. With this you can postpone it and time to receive an email and show it again when you need it.

That is, it works as a reminder. By setting an email to snooze and redeliver at a specific day and time, it will disappear from your inbox, regardless of whether you've already read it, and you'll see it again on the day you set it.

The “Snooze” button only appears if you hover over an email. Essentially four buttons appear in the following order:

  • Archiving
  • Deletion
  • Mark as unread
  • Postponement

The of Adjournment is a clock. Clicking on it will bring up a menu to set the snooze time. This can be anywhere from a minute to years.

After you set the desired snooze day and time (or select the ready ones) the email will disappear from your inbox.

Of course, it is still possible to find emails y that are in abeyance before their redelivery time. Although they're hidden from your main inbox, they'll still appear inside your "Pending" folder.

When your email is re-delivered you will see a message to the right of it in yellow letters that will say "Since snoozed XXX hours ago". If you open it to view this message will disappear.

  1. QUESTION: A DAILY EMAIL I RECEIVE PERFECTLY LEGIT (CONSTANTINOPOLIS AFTERNOON), GOES DIRECTLY TO MY GMAIL INBOX. I HAVE DIRECTED HIM MANY TIMES IN THE MOVES TO GO TO THE INBOX BUT ZERO RESULTS. HOW CAN I SET IT UP?

  2. Good morning. In my opinion, the most important thing in an email we send is to know if it has been opened/read. Until now, I have not found a way through Gmail. Do you know of a way?
PS. I read something about an additional mailtrack, but I don't think it works.

    • Read receipt : This feature is only available if you use Gmail for work that has been set up by an administrator. In a simple gmail.com account, read receipts do not work.
