Microsoft has been trying to reduce its reliance on the Control Panel in recent years. So Windows 11 24H2 brings a huge transition of features and options from the Control Panel to the Settings app. However, you can still use the feature God Mode in Windows 11 24H2.
Before we mention how to use God mode in Windows 11 24H2, you should know what the mode does. Simply put, it's a collection of all the useful settings and tools on your computer. You can use this list instead of searching the Control Panel to find something.
The God Mode feature is not new and was present in all versions of Windows, as well as Insider versions.
Double-clicking on any option in the God function list will launch the corresponding applet.
Follow the steps below to enable God Mode in Windows 11 (24H2 or earlier) or Windows 10:
- Right-click on the desktop and select New – Folder.
and create a new windows 11 folder - Rename the folder with the text: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
- Press Enter and the folder icon will change to the Control Panel icon.
- Open the folder and you will see all the settings.
How would you feel about God Mode becoming “Super” now?
While God Mode is very useful, there is an even better third-party alternative with a better user interface.
Thiojoe created the Super God Mode tool that shows a folder like God Mode for every special folder, task link, settings app link and more in Windows. The script will create 1264 shortcuts.
All you need to do is download the script to run it with PowerShell (it's also on GitHub) by GitHub to run the script that will create the shortcuts.
After that, a folder named “Super God Mode” will appear in File Explorer with several nested folders related to the Settings app, Control Panel widgets, and Special Folders like AppData, which can be accessed difficult.
God mode is easier to set up, but if you want access to all possible Windows settings, Super God mode is worth it.
Awesome congratulations 🤠
