GoDaddy was able to conclude an agreement to buy Sucuri, a security products and services company for websites. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Sucuri is a security platform that offers a suite of security tools to protect websites from emerging online threats. Sucuri's suite of tools provides website owners with the solution they need to respond to hacks when they happen and fix vulnerabilities.
The company provides a plug-in for the WordPress platform, and is actively involved in promoting WordPress security and web site awareness.
"The vast majority of our customers are not web security experts, nor should they be to secure their websites," said Kevin Doerr, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Security at GoDaddy.
"With Sucuri at GoDaddy we will promote digital security to our customers, making it easy, timely and affordable. We will continue to invest in Sucuri to jointly develop products that promote security solutions. ”
The Sucuri team is made up of developers, analysts and researchers focused on different types of attacks. This approach enables the development of a system that provides seamless flow of information between internal groups and the largest online community. This process is the key to the evolution of Sucuri's product and its ability to stay ahead of emerging threats.
"Since our inception, we have always had one and only goal, that of protecting our customers' websites. "We achieve this with two very simple approaches: developing applications that offer value and are ahead of emerging threats," said Sucuri founder Daniel Cid.
"Now we have the opportunity to apply this same philosophy to millions of websites. From our conversations with GoDaddy it became clear that we share the same customer-centric philosophy and our first commitment is to help our customers be safe online. ”
"Sucuri will continue to offer great products and services to our customers, as we always do," said Sucuri CEO Tony Perez.
