Google announced today that it acquired Spider.io, a London-based security company that fights online ad frauds in the ad networks. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although Google said they would use its detection system service to improve the visibility of their ads.
"With Spider.io in our products, we can upgrade our efforts to eliminate malware and improve our entire digital ecosystem." said Neal Mohan, its vice president Google display advertising.
Online fraud in advertisements is a huge problem for which advertisers pay for display and clicks on the Web that actually come from bots. As a result, advertisers pay large sums of money for appearances that do not bring new customers.
With Spider.io, Google hopes to improve the accuracy of the information and give advertisers a clearer, clearer picture of how their campaigns are going and that the results they receive come from people rather than from bots.
