Google has pushed the latest beta version of Chrome 55 to stable channel for all supported platforms: Linux, Windows and Mac.
Version 55 has been on the Beta channel since October 21st but as of today the final is available for everyone. It comes with PointerEvents support, which could lead to a better web browsing response since the scroll on pages will not be blocked by default.
“Chrome now supports two new ways to respond to content. The touch feature in CSS enables sites to react to gestures.
Also, the new Chrome 55 supports asynchronous JavaScript loading, which will be very convenient for web developers who want to write JavaScript based on Promise for a very easy-to-read and structured code.
Another feature that comes with Chrome 55 is support for CSS automatic hyphenation.
Support for Linux and Windows will come with a future version of Chrome.
