Η Gooogle προώθησε την τελευταία beta έκδοση του Chrome 55 στο σταθερό channel for all supported platforms: Linux, Windows and Mac.
55 has been on the Beta channel since October 21 but since today the final is available for everyone. It comes with PointerEvents support, which could lead to a better response of web browsing since page scrolling will not be prevented by default.
“Chrome now supports two new ways to respond to content. The touch feature in CSS enables sites to respond to gestures.
Also, the new Chrome 55 supports asynchronous loading of its keywords JavaScript, which will be very convenient for web developers who want to write Promise-based JavaScript for a very readable and structured code.
Another feature that comes with Chrome 55 is support for CSS automatic hyphenation.
This feature is used to improve the visual text consistency, allowing the Google Chrome browser to spell words. It is currently only supported on Android and MacOS devices. Support for Linux and Windows will come with a future version of Chrome.
