Following Google Chrome in a distant second place is Mozilla Firefox, with 117 vulnerabilities, while Microsoft Edge comes in third with 103. Safari and Opera come in fourth and fifth with 26 and 0 (zero) vulnerabilities, respectively.

In terms of data since Chrome was released in September 2008, 3.159 vulnerabilities have been discovered, while Firefox, Safari, and Opera, which were released before Chrome, have significantly fewer vulnerabilities with 2361, 1139, and 344, respectively. Edge, released in 2015, has a total of 806 vulnerabilities.

To reduce the risk of exploits of the formerbrowser you are using, be sure to install updates as they become available.

Also, check your browser extensions carefully before installing them, as some of them may have vulnerabilities that hackers can exploit.

Finally, you should always be wary of phishing attacks, as hackers often use platforms such as email to distribute software capable of exploiting various browser security holes.

Here to mention that the survey comes from AtlasVPN, apparently for advertising purposes. According to Chrome's rate of adoption by the general public, it will clearly be a priority for malware developers, since users of the browser are at 63.03% from the beginning of 2022 to September 22.

However, if you update your applications, you reduce the chances of your browser being hacked.

I personally use Firefox, which is second on the survey company's list. I've never had a problem…
