It's hard to believe, but the Rubik's Cube is now officially 40 years old. The game was born in Hungary in 1974 to the inventor and architect Ernő Rubik, and went out of the border in May of 1980.
The Hungarian architect Ernő Rubik he wanted to create a model to explain it three-dimensional geometry. This is how he created the first cube, carving the cubes that make it up by hand. It took him a month to manage to make the Cube by getting all the colors on the right side.
Later in 1980 Ideal Toy Corp acquired the rights, and since then it has sold over 350.000 units, making the cube the best-selling toy of all time, and a retro favorite for anyone who was young in the 80s.
Η Google today honors the smart game, with an interactive model on its homepage. You can play more or less as you would expect: click and drag the cube and rotate it.
