Google Drive got an eSignature feature

Η introduced the eSignature feature earlier this year for the , allowing users to request, review and add signatures to formal contracts. Now the company extended the new feature to allow electronic signatures and to PDFs stored in Google Drive.

For those who don't know, an electronic signature is the digital equivalent of a handwritten signature. It can be used to sign documents faster than traditional paper-based methods.

Among other things, Google's eSignature feature will allow you to request signatures from multiple users, including non-Gmail users. You will be able to see the status of pending signatures, find completed (signed) documents, maintain contract-document templates to send multiple electronic signature and view an audit trail of completed contract-documents.

The company explained that this added feature in Google Drive supports custom fields like phone number, job title, company and more. Once you receive a request, you'll be able to sign from a desktop or mobile device.

Workspace admins can enable/disable electronic signatures through the Google Admin Console. Note that a PDF file is locked when a signature request is initiated and you cannot change it.

Η Google ξεκίνησε τη σταδιακή διάθεση της υποστήριξης eSignature για αρχεία PDF. Είναι διαθέσιμο σε επιλεγμένα επίπεδα του Workspace, όπως Business (Standard/Plus), (Starter/Standard/Plus), Essentials and Enterprise Essentials Plus, Education Plus and individual subscribers.

It will take about two weeks for eligible users to see the feature.
