Google has announced the launch of the new .day generic TLD (top-level domain), which means we'll soon see domains .day on the web. Top brands and smart marketers are racing to claim relevant domains right now, such as BlackFri.day, CyberMon.day and Valentines.day etc.
Registration on time access at Landrush is currently open while regular rate registration for everyone opens on 1 February 2022.
Benefits of a generic TLD
The difference between a Generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) and a country code top level domain (ccTLD) is that the ccTLD is associated with a country (iguru.gr). The machines search they generally tend to use ccTLDs to signal the country in which that domain name should be listed.
A gTLD is free of these restrictions and can be classified in any language when published in the country language, just like any other gTLD.
Examples of popular gTLDs are .com, .net, .org, .edu and .gov.
Now .day comes as a member of the list of Generic Top Level Domains.
How much does .Day cost?
As is often the case with the release of a new TLD, professional speculators will try to acquire all the highly marketable domains. But early registrations cost from $ 190 to $ 16.520 for premium domain.
The cost of registering a domain will become lower as February 2022 approaches, when general availability will open.
Once the pre-registration period ends on February 1, 2022, getting a .day will cost $ 20 / year.
If you want to buy a domain you can do it from official site of Google.
Bonus Tip: If you see a notification stating that you can not use the Google Domains service in Greece, simply change the language of your Google Account and enter United States English. Google will allow you to purchase domains.
