Google offers work. The company is looking for “drivers” in Arizona to take over its self-driving cars. The drivers will be tasked with collecting data from the company's specially equipped SUVs.
You should have a clean driving log and the ability to key in 40 WPM speed. Work contracts are 12 and 24, and drivers will have to drive 6-8 hours a day to track Google's standalone driver software and report their performance to company engineers.
Brian Torcellini, head of Google's self-driving test program, told Arizona Republic that "test drivers will play an important role in the development of self-driving technology."
Describing the ideal candidate for the job, he added:
In general, they should be excellent guides who really give special caution on the road and can predict the social aspects of driving. Demand for local drivers will be higher because they know the roads and local driving rules better.
The company announced last month that it would begin testing its vehicles in Arizona, while tests had already begun in Mountain View of California, the capital of Texas, Austin and Kirkland, Washington.
