Η Google is considering making a huge new investment with one cable Internet that will permeate the entire Pacific Ocean.
The move will give Google, as well as any partner company, more control over the quality and prioritization of internet traffic long before it reaches consumers. The new cable will connect the company's data centers located in Japan.
It will not be the first time that Google does this after the company bought a 2010 cable that cost 300 millions of dollars in cooperation with other telephone companies.
The types of private networks that Google hopes to improve are those that deal solely with access to the home, offices and businesses, providing an extra layer of security since it cannot be accessed by devices outside the network.
The publication states that a large part of the bandwidth used by Google is intended for its private network "B4" which carries emails, videos from YouTube and others between the company's data centers. "B4" already has more traffic than the networks it uses or for the general public for search or video results.
