The Financial Police & Cybercrime Prosecution Service arrested yesterday (22.10.2013) in the morning, a 35-year-old citizen, website administrator, against whom a case file was filed for violation of the copyright law.
More specifically, a complaint was lodged by a spokesperson of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Audiovisual Works ("EPOE"), according to which this website allowed Internet users to watch and / or download audiovisual works, such as Greek and foreign motion pictures and television series, for which the rights to cast and display belong exclusively to its member companies.
On the website, there was also a reference to corresponding illegal online links with related content, while according to the complaints, users - subscribers could make monetary "donations" through the company transportof paypal money, so that they "raise" the accessibility level of the website.
It followed a thorough online analysis and investigation, in the context of the removal of the confidentiality of the communications, via the Internet, following the publication of a relevant Prosecution Order, which generated the electronic "traces" of the administrator of the particular blog.
In a search carried out at his home, in Peristeri, Attica, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, one (1) internal hard drive was found and confiscated disc, who will be sent to forensic laboratories, while the on-site digital autopsy found that the 35-year-old citizen is indeed the administrator of the website, who was arrested.
35, with the case file that was filed against him, was taken yesterday (22.10.2013) to the Athens Prosecutor's Office.
