An Android bug that reportedly affects about one billion smartphone owners are not going to be fixed by Google.
The bug is for all versions of the bug Android from version 4.3 and below and concerns the WebView component of the operating system, while Android versions 4.4 and 5.0 remain unaffected. Essentially, the component allows the projection websites from some applications without the need to open the smartphone browser.
Google says it is very difficult to fix the problem, especially in older versions of the operating system like Jelly Bean, while in later versions the problem is self-corrected, as WebView has been removed from the central operating system and turned into downloadable app from Google Play.
This problem is estimated to affect about 60% of Android users while Google states that anyone who wants to make a patch to fix this problem can do so, just that Google itself does not intend to do anything to correct it .
The news of this problem has occurred shortly after Google itself had detected a security flaw in Windows 8.1 before Microsoft could do anything about it.
