Cosmote was hacked, as the company states in an announcement.

COSMOTE MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS S.A. with an announcement, informs that as of audit of its systems, an unauthorized extraction of a file from a company system was detected as a result of cybers. The file in question included data, without names, of the calls made or received by mobile subscribers on the five-day period 1 to 5/9/2020, namely: phone number, day and time of making and its duration.

In addition, device type, IMSI, , gender, ARPU, base station coordinates and mobile plan of COSMOTE subscribers. These data are used by the company to optimize the network and the services provided.

"The file, as the company emphasizes in its announcement, did not include the content of calls (conversations) or the content of messages, names or addresses, nor passwords or data of credit cards or bank accounts. No action is required on the part of the customers ".

And the announcement continues “the company immediately blocked access, took all necessary measures and informed the competent authorities from the first moment, as provided. The investigation of the incident is in progress and so far, there is no indication of publication or other use of the illegally obtained file.
