Hacked the Harvard University

Harvard University system administrators recently discovered unauthorized activity on the University's networks! The University immediately issued a public warning - an appeal to all concerned urging them to change their passwords of their account.Harvard University

The intrusion was discovered on June 19 on the networks of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Central Administration. For now, the of the perpetrator remains unknown, just as the purpose of the violation remains unknown.

At Publication revealing the incident, Rector Alan Garber and Executive Vice President Katie Lapp report that there is no evidence that personal information, research data, or PIN credentials of the University's systems have leaked.

However, the attacker or intruders may have intercepted user names and passwords for access to individual computers, as well as e-mail accounts of University students and academics.

So everyone from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Harvard Divinity School, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, or the Central Administration will need to change the password they use to connect.
