Hewlett Packard (HP) has released a new firmware for the printers by Officejet which appears to prevent the use of ink from third-party manufacturers.
The company caused the sallow one year ago when a firmware was released for some of its printers, which prevented the use of ink from non-cassettes HP.
HP released a software update one month later to restore all features and allow printer inks from third parties.
The new firmware update of Hewlett Packard that was released on September 13, 2017 looks like an exact copy of the firmware update that was released a year ago (exactly the same day).
Printers show the following error message after installing the new firmware in the printer:
One or more cartridges appear to be damaged. Remove and replace with new cassette.
Affected printer models include: HP OfficeJet 6800 printers TV Shows, HP OfficeJet Pro 6200 Series, HP OfficeJet Pro X 450 Series, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 series and many other models.
But apparently HP printers' rejection of non-company inks is due to a feature called Dynamic Security.
The HP Support page “HP Inkjet Printers - Dynamic Security Feature Affecting Cartridges Using Non-HP Security Chip”Gives instructions on how to deactivate Dynamic Security and the ban on inks by third parties will stop.
After that, you have two options to avoid future problems:
Exclude automatic update on your Hewlett Packard printer.
or Change printer company
