TRENDnet: Wi-Fi routers (δρομολογητές) πλέον είναι πραγματικά πανίσχυρα, με ικανοποιητικό signal broadcast to and from multiple devices at the same time, while they can maintain a strong connection to the internet through an also wireless access point or through a 3G router, or through a physical cable connection.
However, walls and furniture always affect the strength of the signal and so some parts of a home or even a large part of it may be out of range of the router. That is, the signal strength is so weak that it can not connect properly to any PC.
That's why the digital device company TRENDnet just released a device that extends the wireless network to the places you want, and at the same time integrates an intelligent remote-controlled socket.
It's called THA-101, and should be placed in an area where the Wi-Fi signal is not satisfactory, i.e. at least 2 lines. Then you need to install a application and you will instantly see your wireless signal in all corners of your home.
The built-in socket allows you to connect a light or fan (located on the front of the THA-101) and after installing a free application for Apple or Android you will be able to through it Internet blink them. That is, the special application associated with the THA-101 device will let you turn the outlet on or off from any mobile device with an Internet connection. The application also allows you to remotely control the outlet with a timer or with random ignitions.
The application also displays real-time energy consumption information, such as current consumption (in mA), voltage, power (in watts), and total power usage (in kW).
Unfortunately, the TRENDnet outlet does not yet have a corresponding device for the Greek electrical network. The American version however, the one on sale costs 63,99 dollars (about 52 euros). We hope to see it on the shelves of Greek stores as the remote controlled sockets up to now have their own control, do not connect to the internet, do not record consumption and the wi-fi repeaters are simple devices without any other function. Unless, of course, you have the money to install a comprehensive but very expensive BEMS-based energy management system in your home (Building Energy Management Systems) or in the newer KNX protocol.
