Hewlett proceeds with a donation of computing infrastructure and services to the Ministry of Digital Governance and the PGPSDD Packard Enterprise (HPE) Hellas, responding to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
HPE contributes to the initiative DigitalSolidarityGR of the Ministry of Digital Government providing infrastructure for the “end to end” equipment of a modern Data Center.
More specifically, the offer concerns:
• 32 Structure Servers με περισσότερους από 400 επεξεργαστικούς πύρινες και 6,5ΤΒ μνήμηs.
• Hybrid Flash central storage system with a capacity of 150TB.
The equipment will be made available to the General Secretariat for Information Systems of Public Administration (GGPSDD), of the Ministry. Digital Governance, for a period of six months with the possibility of extension, if deemed necessary, due to the circumstances. It will be delivered to the Computer Center of GGPSDD and after being installed and configured according to the instructions of the responsible Directorate, it will serve the increased needs of the users for telework that have arisen with the appearance of the pandemic.
Ειδικότερα, οι πόροι του συστήματος είναι αρκετοί να υποστηρίξουν 1500-2000 απομακρυσμένους χρήστες αυξημένων απαιτήσεων σε εικονικό περιβάλλον εργασίας (VDI) με πλήρη, ελεγχόμενη και safe access to critical applications to be selected.
In this way, the possibility of business continuity without restrictions is strengthened in a very critical part of the Public Administration due to the circumstances, with obvious benefits for both the state mechanism and the citizens. It comes to significantly strengthen an already established and fully operational infrastructure of the GGPSDD that allows teleworking to employees of the Ministry of Digital Government, the Ministry of Finance and the A.A.D.E.
Michalis Kasimiotis, Managing Director of Greece and Cyprus stated:
"For HPE, the greatest promise of technology lies behind the good it can offer to humanity. Putting this commitment into practice and with a high sense of responsibility, we stand as helpers in this difficult and difficult time for our country and for the whole world. In these unprecedented circumstances that we all experience, we feel more than ever the need to support the State in its efforts to address the pandemic of COVID-19 and effectively addressing its consequences ".
