HWiNFO v8.50: Complete hardware control and monitoring

The HWiNFO is a free program that can show you in real time complete information of the individual hardware of your computer as well as information about the overall state of its "health".

The HWiNFO is a portable application which means it can be run from an external device, without installation. Of course, it also has a version with a full installation. Today, the company responsible for this, released the edition 8.50 with several changes, improvements and monitoring options, compared to the previous version. It works on Windows 32/64 bit and DOS. HWiNFO displays upon startup, a main analysis window with your system components and a second real-time monitoring window with the main components of your computer (system summary), such as CPU, GPU, memory, motherboard, etc.

This information can help you see if there are any firmware updates for your BIOS version or driver updates for your graphics card. Although these cannot be searched for within the application, it makes it easier to find the right driver information online, as you can do a detailed search for these updates.

The program has the ability to store a detailed report of your hardware, in various formats, on the local computer.

HWiNFO also monitors the maximum and minimum values for as long as it runs in the background. Handy for evaluating temperature levels or trends over time, for example to determine if crashes or freezes are caused by critical temperature levels. The program has alerts that can be set to notify you if values reach critical levels. The program supports a wide variety of alert options, from playing a sound to running a selected program. HWiNFO comes with a benchmarking tool to benchmark CPU, memory, and disk. The developers have included an automatic check for updates in the application so that it is always up to date.
