iCloud for Windows corrupts videos and displays foreign photos

There are ongoing issues that seem to affect the app for Windows, and especially photo and video storage.

According to many online complaints, iCloud for Windows corrupts some videos. There are also reports of a more troubling problem: from strangers appear in other users' iCloud photo library.

MacRumors collected some of these complaints through complaints posted on their forums. According to one user, the videos taken with the models Pro and iPhone 14 Pro don't sync properly with iCloud for Windows. When synced with iCloud for Windows, they go “black, rendering the videos unusable”.

Some others report seeing photos and videos that aren't theirs and could be from other people's iCloud libraries.

These issues seem to affect the dedicated iCloud app for Windows and not the recently released iCloud Photos in Windows 11.

At this time there is no further information indicating where these problems are coming from.
