iGuRu.gr in collaboration with nperf.com has acquired a speedtest widget. Speedtest is an online tool that measures the speed and quality of your internet connection. That is, it records how fast you are “downloading” and “uploading” data at that moment.
The basic measurements it shows you are:
Download : The speed at which you download data (e.g., watching videos, loading web pages). The higher, the better.
Upload : The speed at which you send data (e.g., sending emails with attachments, video calls).
Ping / Latency : The time it takes for the network to respond. You want the ping to be as low as possible (ideally under 30-50 ms), especially if you're playing online games.
You can perform the test from the widget below, or from the page we created specifically for it.
Note: the widget will ask you for permission to “see” your location in order to set the closest servers for speedtest. If you don’t want to grant access, you can set them yourself manually.
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
